Doing dishes has been my arch nemesis since I was a younger boy when it was a chore of mine temporarily. There was something about seeing a pile of dishes with crusty food caked on them that made me feel like I was gagging on a soiled used diaper. I was especially repulsed by the foods that I had a major distaste for such as mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard and cream cheese. It was gross and I would always try to pay one of my sisters to do them for me when it was my turn.
Since then, I’ve grown up a bit and am neutral about doing the dishes unless they have been sitting for too long. So Lorelei and I are trying a new system in the smaller confines of van life where I can get to the dishes while they are still warm and the kitchen isn’t too crowded for her to cook in peace. We are constantly looking for ways to make our lives easier, more efficient and enjoyable while mixing in everyday chores with work and leisure.
